Introduction

시련 가운데서도 낙심하지 않고 기뻐하는 세 가지 이유
Three reasons that even though Christians are in suffering, they are not disappointed and rejoiced.
 
구원에 이르게 될 줄을 알기 때문 (19절)
Because he knows that he would be delivered (verse 19)
 
바울은 빌립보 성도들의 기도와 성령의 도우심으로 구원에 이르게 되는 것을 확신했습니다.
Paul was sure of salvation that through the prayers of the church members and the help given by the Spirit.
 
그리스도가 존귀하게 되기 때문 (20절)
Because Christ would be honored in his body (verse 20)
 
바울의 간절한 기대와 소망은 삶과 죽음을 넘어서서 그리스도가 존귀하게 되는 것입니다. 우리는 어디에 우리의 목적과 소망을 두고 삽니까?
The glory and honor of Christ was his only concern and his hope beyond the point of life or death. What is our hope and purpose now?
 
자신이 사는 것이 곧 그리스도이기 때문 (21절)
Because for him to live is Christ (verse 21)
 
바울에게 있어서 그리스도는 그가 현재 사는 이유이며, 그리스도의 영광은 그가 하는 모든 것의 동기입니다.
For Paul, Christ is the reason for him to live; the glory of Christ is the motivation of all things he is doing now.
