에베소서 (Ephesians) 5:22-33

 

5:22 아내들이여 자기 남편에게 복종하기를 주께 하듯 하라
5:23 이는 남편이 아내의 머리 됨이 그리스도께서 교회의 머리 됨과 같음이니 그가 바로 몸의 구주시니라
5:24 그러므로 교회가 그리스도에게 하듯 아내들도 범사에 자기 남편에게 복종할지니라
5:25 남편들아 아내 사랑하기를 그리스도께서 교회를 사랑하시고 그 교회를 위하여 자신을 주심 같이 하라
5:26 이는 곧 물로 씻어 말씀으로 깨끗하게 하사 거룩하게 하시고
5:27 자기 앞에 영광스러운 교회로 세우사 티나 주름 잡힌 것이나 이런 것들이 없이 거룩하고 흠이 없게 하려 하심이라
5:28 이와 같이 남편들도 자기 아내 사랑하기를 자기 자신과 같이 할지니 자기 아내를 사랑하는 자는 자기를 사랑하는 것이라
5:29 누구든지 언제나 자기 육체를 미워하지 않고 오직 양육하여 보호하기를 그리스도께서 교회에게 함과 같이 하나니
5:30 우리는 그 몸의 지체임이라
5:31 그러므로 사람이 부모를 떠나 그의 아내와 합하여 그 둘이 한 육체가 될지니
5:32 이 비밀이 크도다 나는 그리스도와 교회에 대하여 말하노라
5:33 그러나 너희도 각각 자기의 아내 사랑하기를 자신 같이 하고 아내도 자기 남편을 존경하라

5:22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.
5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.
5:24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her
5:26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,
5:27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
5:28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
5:29 After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church--
5:30 for we are members of his body.
5:31 "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh."
5:32 This is a profound mystery--but I am talking about Christ and the church.
5:33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

남편에게 복종하라
Submit to your husbands

 

성경에서 복종은 하나님의 뜻을 성취합니다. 아브라함에 대한 사라의 순종은 하나님의 언약을 성취하는 통로였습니다. 남편에 대한 복종은 남편을 하나님의 사람으로 세우는 믿음의 행위입니다.
Submission in the Bible achieves God's will. Sarah's submission to Abraham was a way to perform God's covenant. Submission to a husband is an action of faith by which a wife regards her husband as God's servant/man.

 

아내를 사랑하라
Love your wife

 

남편은 그리스도께서 교회를 사랑하신 것처럼 자기를 줌으로써 아내를 사랑합니다. 남편과의 관계 안에서 아내는 아름답게 빚어지며, 남편은 이것을 특권으로 누릴 수 있어야 합니다.
As Christ loved the Church, so husband should love his wife. Wife will be created in the hands of her husband and he should be able to consider it as his privilege.

That the two become one flesh is a profound mystery. It comes out in the relationship between Christ and the church. The two principles help us recognize how couples should live in this day.
