3. 김영찬 목사님[빛과소금교회]께서 대장암(3기) 수술을 받고, 8월 5일부터 약 6개월 동안 12회에 걸쳐서 격주로 항암 치료를 받기로 했습니다. 지난 주일 제직회에서 교회 재정에서 일정액을 돕기로 결정하여, 전달하고 왔습니다. 김영찬 목사님은 사역과 함께 파타임으로 일하고 계셨는데, 치료가 끝날 때까지는 일을 하실 수 없으실 것 같습니다.
같은 지역 교회로서 김영찬 목사님을 돕는 것이 마땅한 일이고, 귀한 일이라고 생각합니다. 교회의 재정으로 먼저 돕긴 했지만, 이를 위해 성도님들께서도 참여할 수 있는 기회를 갖기로 했습니다. 현관 안내석에 있는“김영찬 목사 후원 헌금”이라고 쓰여 있는 봉투를 이용해서 헌금해 주시면 교회에서 전하도록 하겠습니다. 8월 초에 다시 경과를 보고드릴 예정입니다. 감사합니다.
Rev. Young Chan Kim (the senior pastor of Light & Salt Church in Charlottesville) had Stage 3 colorectal cancer surgery a few weeks ago, and will have chemotheraphy from Wednesday, the 5th of August, every other week, for a total of 12 times in six months. Last Sunday our church had the decision to support him financially in the deacon’s meeting and delivered aid on the same day. Rev. Kim worked part a time job as well as being a church pastor, but it may not be possible for him to continue doing part time job until he finishes his treatment, which may take six months.
As a local church in the same area as “Light and Salt church” it is right and invaluable to help the pastor of the Light and Salt church. Even though our church helped once, our church made a decision for our church members to have chances to help voluntarily. If you offer with the envelope which has “Help for Rev. Young Chan Kim” on it, we will deliver it to him. And we also have a plan to report on the aid given to him at the beginning of the August. Thank you.
